Yesterday, the 10th of April 2025, marks a significant turning point in the democratic journey of our dear party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), here in Ikorodu North LCDA. The peaceful and successful conclusion of our party primaries is not just a victory for the winners, but a celebration of democracy, unity, and the spirit of true progressivism.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to my dear brother, friend, and dependable Vice Chairman, Hon. Al-Ameen Olawale Apanisile, on his emergence as the APC Candidate for the Executive Chairmanship position of Ikorodu North LCDA. Your dedication, loyalty, and humility have been tested and proven over the years, and I am confident that your election is a reward well-deserved.
Equally, I congratulate our newly elected Councillorship Candidates:
Ibrahim Risikat Abiodun (Ward E3, Àgbàlá), Jimoh Idris (Ward B3, Isiu), Benson Bose (Ward E2, Erikorodo), Banjoko Oluwasheun (Ward E1, Odogunyan), Oluwaseyi Onabajo, (Ward E4, Olorunda)
This victory is not an end, but a call to deeper service. I urge you all to be magnanimous in victory. Let the spirit of brotherhood prevail. Those who ran the race with you are not your enemies, but fellow progressives - brothers and sisters united in our collective ambition to build a stronger, more prosperous Ikorodu North. Their dreams, their sacrifices, and their aspirations must be respected and honoured.
Let us follow the noble example of our National Leader and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who, at the end of every political contest, extends an olive branch to his opponents and brings everyone together under the same roof of progress.
Dear candidates, now is the time to build bridges - not walls. Reach out. Embrace your fellow aspirants and their followers. Let us unite under one party, one vision, one mission. The primaries are over, but the real battle lies ahead - the local government elections scheduled for July 12, 2025.
We must face the elections not as fragmented camps but as a unified force, poised to deliver victory to our party and to our people. All hands must be on deck, all voices must sing in harmony, and all hearts must beat with the rhythm of loyalty and determination.
As you all prepare to carry the flag of our great party to the polls, I pray that the grace and wisdom of God shall go before you. You will find favour in the eyes of the electorate. You will be endowed with strength, clarity, and courage to fulfill this divine mandate.
And in the end, victory shall be ours.
Congratulations once again, and may our unity continue to be our strength.
